Field salad experiment
Late last winter I took one mâche plant and put it into the soil in a deserted pot on the balcony and not in the salad bowl with the other leaves. Ever since, it has grown through the balcony railings and developed the prettiest tiny flowers. Although those flowers are lovely in and of themselves, I do hope that they will be pollinated and develop into seeds throughout summer. And then I can sow my own field salad in autumn. Fingers crossed.
(PS: It is rare that I manage to take pictures of the balcony plants without parked cars in the background. So I am glad I got this one.)
